With a storied history in esports, Tempo will use the funds raised in this closed round to pursue ventures outside of professional gaming, including the development of flagship game The Bazaar.
February 2020: Tempo announced today that it has raised $3.3M in its latest funding round, led by leading interactive content and technology investor Galaxy Interactive via its Galaxy EOS VC Fund. As one of the most innovative esports franchises in the space, Tempo will be using its latest investments to grow far beyond the confines of the traditional esports organization.
Tempo has long been known for fielding some of the best esports teams and players in the industry’s history, including in games like Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros., Magic: The Gathering, Shadowverse, PUBG Mobile, and Rainbow Six Siege. This additional funding will allow them to push further into interactive, immersive media, as well as game design, transforming Tempo into something unlike anything else in esports—or in video games as a whole.

The Bazaar is a digital deck-building card game designed to take reynad’s years of experience as a professional card game player across multiple titles and create an innovative take in the competitive card game space.
Meanwhile, Game Changers represents something completely new across interactive media. Building off the amazing work of IRL and Just Chatting Twitch streamers, Game Changers is an all-live travel show which proves fans can fully influence what happens on stream. Bringing in some of the biggest personalities on Twitch like Jake’n’Bake, Game Changers creates an all-new avenue for immersive storytelling at Tempo.
With the investment of Galaxy Interactive and many others, Tempo will be pushing the envelope across interactive media for years to come.
